Q: What is your makeup philosophy? A: I firmly believe that less is more when it comes to makeup use and application. Makeup should be used to enhance your natural looks; not try to make you look like someone else. My goal is to age gracefully and take good care of myself inside and out I am determined to age gracefully and makeup helps me look and feel the best I can at any age.
Q: What is your makeup style/preferences? A: I usually go for the natural but better or “no makeup” look.A: I’m a busy person and I don’t like to spend a ton of time on my beauty and skincare routine so my goal is to use products that are effective, use efficient makeup techniques. I don’t enjoy overly perfumed products. I’m obsessed with finding the perfect color match I am a firm believer in blending, blending, blending.

Q: What are your beauty pet peeves? A: Companies that don’t openly list the ingredients in their products. Companies that publish a different set of ingredients on their packaging vs. their website. Companies that “greenwash” (appear to be healthy/non toxic and market themselves that way but formulate their products with ingredients considered toxic in nature. It drives me crazy to see ladies with makeup piled on their face like a mask and/or in severe need of blending.

Q: How did you come up with the name Curious Babs? A: I’ve always been a curious person. I used to drive my oldest sister crazy because I would ask why, why, why about EVERYTHING! She was a good sport about. I’m curious to this day, always trying to get a deeper understanding of things or gain perspective. I’m constantly doing research about beauty products and trying new products and brands so I figured it was fitting to include “Curious” in my blog name. My first job out of college, I met my good friend Janice, originally from upstate New York. We had a blast doing what fun-loving single twenty/thirty somethings do. Janice is a hilarious person and just started calling me Babs one day. I never asked her why (I heard it’s an East Coast thing). The nickname cracked me up and I just went with it and it spread throughout the office. In summary, i decided to use Babs in my blog name because it reminds me of adventurous times of youth, my good friend and it has had a nice ring with “Curious”.
Q: What do you do for a living? A: I work full time as a Program Manager in a high tech company in Silicon Valley, California.
